My Space Night is October 6, 2006 each grade has an activity that they are responsible for k-balloon rockets (put a balloon in a paper bag and launch. Then there is what do you weigh on other planets, Dig through sand with tongs to find moon rocks to keep, planet bowling, UFO Bean Bag toss and a space cake walk. Then my brother is going to wear a replica space suit that I am borrowing from NASA. There will be rocket launches done by the local middle school and a astronomy proffesor from UNCG is going to bring out telescopes for star viewing. We are going to have a costume contest and 18 foot inflatable slide to blast down. For supper we are going to have a hotdog supper and a dippin dots vendor. And on September 6 the Atlantis shuttle will launch into space taking the students signatures up with it. Our school was selected last year for Signatures in Space which is a wonderful program. All of the students sign this NASA poster that will not tear and then you mail the poster back they send the digital image in the shuttle and then they send back your poster with a autographed picture from the astronauts and a certificate of authenticity.
All of this is free to the school and they pick fifty schools a year for this event so check it out on the NASA sight or google signatures in space. Thanks for asking and if anyone is planning a space night I would be happy to help. My email address is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Sounds like your Space Night is over and went well, but I'm interested in what Space Night actually was. I'd be glad to hear the details.

It turned out good for my first board. And I have my first family fun night ready to go on Oct.6. Now I have to plan two a year and for my second one I want to have it all about reading. I want it too be very simple because my Space Night has not been. Has anyone planned a reading family fun night before any information would be greatly appreciated. Also it will not be until this Spring so I have plenty of time to wait patiently this time on your replies.
Thanking you in advance,
Paula

Sigh, the stress of the new year. It gets to us all sometimes. So how did your board turn out? And now you know where to turn to in the future.
