This is open to all students and their families. I thought about donating books for admission but the consensus is that most of these kids don't have many if any books. This is my first time doing this event and I don't know what is going on with the cards.

I like the Book Bingo idea it sounds fun? Is it just for your PTO members or do you invite others and do you invite students too. Here's an idea what about asking attending persons to donate a book sightly used or new as admission to the Bingo. Do you use regular bingo cards to play or make up fun book related squares. The more I talk about it the more I like it.
Scholastic has bruised book boxes they sell by grade category (K/1), (2/3), (4/5), etc. They come in boxes of 25 and they are $25 for a box. You can't choose the selection, but we have done it for three years for our book bingo and overall there has always been a good selection. If you order them over a period of time you are more likely to get a variety of different books. Most of the books aren't bruised, but overstocks or holiday books.
There isn't one here but I'm not sure where the closest one is. I couldn't find any info about them on their website.

If you have a Scholastic Book Fairs warehouse near you they have incredible bargains during their warehouse sales. The same merchandise that they have at the books fairs is sold 50% off and sometimes they have huge bins of books that they sell - you can fill up a bag for $5.
Someone else is working on them. I am trying to scout out places now as we are getting started to do a book drive to see if staff and students have any to donate. I like to plan ahead.
