I am so stealing (and adapting) the eagle head idea! I think its a great reward wihtout it being a food treat. Sends a great message. Now I have to go find a lion I will pass this idea along to the powers that be! Can always count on you guys for a great idea!

Excellent, we also have spirit Fridays, love that idea. Also love the fish! funny!

We do spirit days every friday. The class in each grade with the most kids in spirit wear or school color get the "Eagle" head in their class for the week. The kids are really into it. When the teachers send in their attendance rosters on Friday they include their spirit count. Then the eagle heads are delivered and an annoucement is made for the winning classes at the end of the day. Our spirit wear sales have increased markedly this year since we introduced the eagle head.

how about extra recess or going to lunch 5 minutes early for a period of time

The children in our school love to win the "popcorn party" and all it takes is a few bags of microwave popcorn and is delivered at their snack time.

We have a spirit pet, its a fish. The class that wins takes care of the pet for the month. A friend of mine has a hampster at their school. Its cool to get a beta fish in your school colors. The kids love it.
