When my daughter was in kindergarten we did flat Stanley and the students each got a flat stanley to mail to friends or relatives in another state and this person would take Stanley to work with them or to a park or zoo and mail stanley and pictures of places in that state stanley visited with them back to the students--The kids loved it and Stanley even made it over seas to france.
Karen, I'd love to come see your board! I'll even bring some Alabama treats for your students. It'll be around the end of March if everything goes well with the move. Thanks so much for the invitation!
Love JHB's idea too. Kids love mail. My son is 13 and still wishes he'd get more mail.

When my daughter was in kindergarten we did the Alphabet postcard game where you get 26 friends/relatives to each send in a postcard representing a letter of the alphabet (letters are pre-assigned).
It was a blast, and she loved getting all the cards.
