We get together over the summer to just go over things and make sure everything is in order for the following year. Talk about what worked, what didnt and what changes we want to make, etc.

Ditto to all the above. We have an end-of-summer quick get together just to touch base and make sure we're all still on the same page for the Fall. It's more to see if anyone has come up with any new ideas over the summer than anything else. This way if there is something 'new' out there and we (the board only for the summer meeting I should note) all vote and agree, we can get moving on it.
We usually have everything for the fall - next year - pretty well set at the end of school in spring. This helps as then the get together only takes about a half hour or so.

Same here... we have a nice BBQ in August where we finish our planning for the year and then just enjoy one another's company! Great way to begin the year!!!

Our group meets in June and August. We do a pot luck or pizza and meet at a member's house. Kids run around playing while we exchange ideas for the coming year. New officers take over in July, so we use the June meeting to go over stuff with them and to set a time for our yearly audit.
Sometimes we'll go over what we did the past year, did it work? what should we do differently?
In August, we discuss the budget and the calendar for the coming year. We fine tune the tri-fold brochure we distribute and talk about any other issues there might be.
These are also social events for us. We spend about an hour or so on the business, then just sit back and visit, enjoying each other's company. That can be a rarety these days.
we do no actually meet over the summer but we do stay in contact, at this time we have next years schedule all covered and start right off on the first day of school with a parent welcome wagon with coffee and donuts.
Today is our last event for the year...game day!! YEAH...it is almost over!
