Ok here goes.

School store Huge success so far!!! Our store opens 2 days per week before school starts opening from 7-8:15 AM.
Features Pencil machine, pencils for .25. with teams, curious george, and other pencils the kids collect.
-Cool Erasers, sharpeners, backpacks, paper and folders, and seasonal items(ie; Haloween, valentine & St Patricks etc.) We also sell our school "pets"(various stuffed animals(from Atlas) with our school name and crest on its T-shirt.
The Pencil machine is always available.
The store after an initialinvestment of 1500.00 is now self sufficient.
A teachers coffe club is in the works for this year....still in preliminary stages.

On this note this week we are actualy adding non tangible items, like eat lunch with the principal, extra gym time, game time, a movie in the computer lab, library helper, helping the custodian, etc. These are geared more the upper grades (3-6) as they seem to need that little more incentive than the regular school store stuff, at this time of year! Our kids do love the earning the coupons and being rewarded!

I like that idea a lot. We do ours to raise some monies for assemblies, etc - we had our bake sales taken away so we need to find another way to do it. But now I am thinking about giving each teacher coupons to hand out during the year.

Our individual classrooms use good behavior stores and we run a Box Tops Store. We have found a lot of success with Good Time Attractions and US Toy Co. as well as Oriental Trading. I have noticed that OT is not as competative about prices as they used to be, but they are usually still a good deal.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

We have a positive behavior store which is like a school store only they earn coupons we take no money. We use Geddes alot but have also used student supply, and sometimes oriental trading. Although don't get any thing metallic from them as we have always had the paint come off on hands.
