Hi Heather,
Does your group do any sort of welcome packet at the start of the school year? That could be modified for the Kindergarten parents. If you don't do a welcome packet, you can use this as a resource: www.ptotoday.com/pto-today-articles/arti...ate-a-welcome-packet.
For Kindergarten parents, you'd want to include basic information about your group and school. You can include volunteer opportunities and any parent resources (community resources) that you'd share with parents in general. You also might want to make a plan to do a few meet-and-greet events over the summer for Kindergarten parents and let them know about this in the roundup you provide.
Yes...We have been approached by our principle to maybe come up with something we could pass out at kindergarten roundup. Any suggestions on what type of info we should include in our packet?
Thanks.
Hi there!
It looks like the Kindergarten Roundup was something discussed on the Message Boards several years back. Are you looking for help reaching out to Kindergarten parents?
It may vary, but often "Kindergarten Roundup" is the effort (usually in Spring) to identify the next year's kindergarten class, make the parents aware of the necessary paperwork and requirements, and familiarize the families with the school and its programs.
For our elementary, the Kindergarten Roundup was run by the school. But the PTO assisted with organizing the day the future-kindergartners were invited to come spend part of the day at school and made a special effort to meet the parents and make them aware of PTO activities.
