momof2boys...I have a 7th grader, 1st grader and a kindergarten student with two more in waiting!

By the time the two year old starts school, I'll either be a pro or sick and tired! OR BOTH!! ;)

This year it's been like pulling teeth, last year we had to actually sort things and stagger our volunteers! Crazy. When it rains......

Thanks to those of you that responded. I wasn't too sure how quickly I'd get some feedback. What a great resource of people. I'm preparing my ideas for a PTA meeting Monday (1/26) so I wanted to feel prepared and present ideas for them to help decide which to do. I encourage any other ideas that anyone has.

I've seen some of these ideas posted or in the magazine but you can do:

Beach party
candy bar bingo
reading night (just an article written up recently) where everyone comes to the school for an hour in pj's and reads to their kids
art projects (esp around christmas if you don't do a secret santa shop)
dinners like spaghetti
pumpkin decorating around halloween
movies

if you search thru the posts, and the archived articles you will get a million ideas!!

This is my third time around as a "Kindergarder Mom" with two more in waiting, WELCOME!

Wheither or not there is anything on what to do or what has been done, I find myself becoming more creative everyday! Saying you could chair shouldn't mean "I can do this alone" nope. We didn't plan a wedding without help, we need a team to plan an event. Talk to the other Kindergarden moms, mention at the next meeting you have ideas but could really use more brains on this one. DON'T let this make you sweat! Save that for when your mother-in-law is knocking at your door SURPRISE! ;)
You are on a great track and it'll be so much fun I really hope you get hooked and end up here all the time to share your joys and of course your vents. Congrats on your new adventure and welcome!

I like the kickball game idea! In a friend of mine's school, they had a trivial pursuit-type night, with each class having the students vs. the parents ( kids obviously had questions slanted towards what's hip these days). I think they had a panel of the older students make up the questions for the younger ones.
Good luck!
