We traditionally give out a door prize drawing to:
1. Dad's (like a HOME DEPOT certificate)
2. Mom's (like a plant or dinner certificate)
3. Teachers (like a package of Sticky notes and pen).
Great idea Lisa - to have inexpensive items for the kids that come. In the past we've been able to get items donated from places like Chili's. Don Pablos, Home Depot, etc.
Door Prizes are drawing fromthe pot before the meeting is adorned, and folks must be present to win.
We even have a special drawing for teachers too - but that takes a bit of creativity sometimes. Usually we get a certificate from a teachers supply place, like Teaching Tools, or we get a few items from Walmart that teachers can use (paperclips, red pens, magnets for the chalk board, box of chalk etc), and put those goodies in a cute .99 cent bag from Walmart.
We do things like frames, gift certificates and trinkets. We either have them donated, or buy them at a reasonable price. We also have something for all the kids. This month it was pencils with purple ribbon curled around it.
What do you give out as door prizes? How much do you spend? How many prizes do you give out? We more people at our meeting is Aug. than all of last year! Want them to want to keep coming!!
