3kidmom, would you please e-mail me info on how to start such a project, how much you charge for the calendar, etc. I would love to start this at our school. Thanks for any help!! This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Sorry for the prior error! opps..
I recently proposed a school calendar project with a student art contest(winners of the contest had artwork printed in calendar). They shot it down due to it being uncharted territory(I think, I'm still not quite sure). I thought it was a great idea.
I have some questions for 3kidmom her calender sounds like the very same idea(or anyone else who wants to chime in):
How much are you selling the calenders for?
What is your profit per calender?
Is the calendar a Jan-Jan or is it set up school year to school year(aug-aug)?

Our idea at first was to sell ads to local businesses to pay for the printing and binding of the calendars. We wanted to be able to send a calendar home with every child in our school on the first day of classes. (We have approx. 700 kids in our school) Our calendar lists every event that we know of at the time that it goes to the printer. Also, in the front of the calendar are about 5 pages, front and back of school information such as lunch prices, early dismissal procedures, who to call and when, PTO committee descriptions as well as PTO boardmember names and phone numbers and committee heads and phone numbers.
In this our 3rd year of selling ads, we sold so many that this has become a type of fundraiser for us. After all expenses were paid, we made $2,300.00 profit!!!
