Last year, our auction chairman was able to get some hotels donated. She told me she just called them, for example, told them she loved their hotel and that people from our city love to come to their city to shop, etc. So, after she got the hotel for two nights, she called some nearby restaurants and was able to get a dinner donated. Then, she could make it a silent auction "package". The chairman (a real go-getter) said you'd be surprised what companies will donate if you just ASK and she preferred to call most of them and then follow up in writing, if they asked.

Most hotels will offer a free night stay and meal, in hopes that you will book an event there...
On a side note, I'm in a business group and one of our chapters held a fundraising event at a hotel. The chapter got free meeting space and breakfast - the hotel got free advertisement. So that's something to think about, especially if you have offsite events.
I will use this info also. How do you find all these businesses and their addresses? I have one more year of elementary school and I want to do the auction (my turn). Will you help me?
