Just a side note to NONSEQUITUR's post...in regards to the candy bar sale...if you go through Market Day, the candy bar wrappers have a $1 off coupon on them towards market day products. They also have name brand candy bars that offer $1 off coupons for subway subs. Thought that was a good, "thanks for helping us out" bonus.

Our school raises somewhere around 30 thousand everytime it holds a silent auction and evening dance. The dance is fun but just icing on the cake. The auction is the fundraiser. Its a lot of work and we only have energy to pull it off every other year. But its a great opportunity for people to donate all sorts of interesting things from pedicures to trips to Rome. We are a school of 200 or so students in a large city. We parents fo out an solicit donations form all sorts of places.
I think the easiest fundraiser with the most response is a raffle. We have done one for the past 2 years (the only 2 years are school has been open). It has earned around 7K each time. We have each grade level make a theme "basket" and send home a note to the parents in the grade level to send in something for that basket. The tickets are sold for $1 each and the student gets a free ticket if the pack of 20 is sold.
Our parents like the raffle - it's easier to sell a $1 raffle ticket than more expensive items and once the raffle is done - it's done. You don't need to start getting all the product distributed....
We just used Cherrydale Farms fundraiser this past fall and profited $4500.00 more dollars than we had with our past fundraisers. We have a local representative that was so supportive and always available to us. I think having a local representative made all the difference.
You can find the website off of this site or www.cherrydalefarms.com
Hope this helps......we highly recommend you take a look at the possiblity for your school. GOOD LUCK to all with your fundraisers!
