CoPREZ: We made $2,000.00. I think that we would've done better but it had the nerve to snow that night (March 2003)! We didn't charge for tables but instead a percentage of their profits. Next year we're going to do the same but have a minimum of $25.00 for each vendor. We also asked each vendor to donate an item towards our raffle. The raffle is where we made half the money! I set up the raffle items so that each one had its own ticket bucket. That way, people seemed more interested as they could buy as many tickets as they wanted ($1.00 each and NO deals!)for the item that they wanted. Items ranged in value from $20 - $75.00+.
We had BOTH major home party vendors (ex: Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Avon, Southern Living at Home, Tastefully Simple, Princess House Glass, and many more) to local jewelry vendors and crafters. The BOTTOM LINE was to provide funds for our school and everyone was happy to do so. At least one-fourth of the vendors/crafters were our school parents who donated larger percentages - one was a teacher! It's especially win-win for locals/school parents as this provides a visibility they didn't have previously. Some vendors may also provide additional "buying capacity/time" through their websites... One interesting vendor who contacted me sells candy and snacksfor people with peanut allergies.
Another interesting thing that happened, unsolicited, was donations of 1-3 month membership to local woman's gym that was raffled and free entry passes to local "swishy" indoor kids' playground...Another parent-teacher organization member made and donated a BEAUTIFUL toddler quilt. The opportunities are only limited by your imagination!
