Mixed review of Market Day - mainly because our PTO president is a PAID EMPLOYEE of Market Day - thus every event, celebration, etc. we have at the school is MARKET DAY PRODUCT, thus putting more $$$$$ into her own personal pocket.
We just tried market day last year. We did great around 4,000 profit! Our rep was great. The food is realy good and they run specials every month. We have a group of 6-8 volunterrs each month and for 3 hours a month the profit was fantastic. We told the parents up front we cannot hold you food you have to pick up it up.

We have Market Day at our school, and I am now the chair. I love the food, it is all wonderful! We have also been through several reps, but I'm sure they think they same about chairs changing. I believe we get 10% back.
We have done market day for many years at our school and this will be my 2nd year as chairperson--I love market day--it works well for our school. Even though we have been through about 4 or 5 reps last school year alone it runs pretty smoothly--we have the same 6 or 7 volunteers who come every month and we very much have it down to an art lol--I don't at all feel like its hard to do--I go in once a week to the school to collect the order sheets and put them online(probably takes me a couple hours a month) on sale day you call and remind people that they need to come to pick up and we are lucky if someone doesn't show we can keep the food in the school freezer till the next day. We have also been able to help the students out with market day--high school choir students needed to earn money for their trip so we offered to pay them if they came on pick up day and helped out--this year we will be doing this with the 8th grade students who want to go on the 8th grade trip. Good Luck!!
