We are also doing our Secret Santa Shop different this year. Instead of using a company that supplies us with everything. We will have a few local vendors set up and sell their items. Such as, Pampered Chef, Rainbow Gifts, Mary Kay, Usborne Books, Decor and More and Avon.
The student will pay each vendor. We only used parents of the school district that sold items in the price range of $.25 to $5.
As for the letter and collection envelope, we also wrote a letter and attached the wish list too. We also asked the parents if there's money left over, does your child have your permission to spend it on him or herself.
I am looking forward to this type of Secret Santa Shop this year.
Looking to see if you have had a chance to write up and post the letter to parents/students announcing the holiday shop. Time is running out and alot is going on. I have printed envelopes and sent home the "Watch For" letter but now am at a standstill. Thanks for your assistance.
Sorry. These were just finalized and for some reason I lost my uploading priviledges at school.
As far as storing all the items, we try and get delivery as close to November as possible, but before that, the boxes are kept at committee members' houses.
I have been buying from Kipp Brothers and accesories place. We won't be going through a santa shoppe place they mark up the same stuff were purchasing for $1.00 or less. Thanks for all the new sites to go to for stuff and about how much to get I wasn't sure how much to purchase.
Also we bought our Santa Shoppe envelopes at Good Time Attractions. Next year we will probably have them printed ourselves but I am running out of time for this year. Its in two weeks!!! UGH
Good Luck for everyone who's having one on their own.

Hope this helps, here's the text for our announcement letter. We made it cute with little stockings at the top. We use a company to provide our gifts but after reading all of your ideas, I might try to do this on our own next year! Thanks!

Dear Parents,
We’re happy to announce that the Holiday Shoppe is returning to our school this year. Year after year our students look forward to shopping for their own special holiday gifts for family and friends.
The PTO is sponsoring this special shop-at-school program that enables our students to share in the surprise of holiday giving. It is such a popular event with our students as they can select special gifts for their loved ones while our parents avoid the crowded mall or department stores! For those of you new to our school, rest assured that the items are high quality and priced low so that their allowance goes further.
The Holiday Shoppe will be open from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. from December 4th – December 8th. Students are invited to shop at designated times throughout the day and select from a wide variety of items ranging in price from .50 to 10.00. Some of the items that will be available to the children are jewelry, tools, plaques, and stationary items. We are very excited about the value of this program as a learning experience for our children and a helpful service to our busy parents.
Since this is a school-day event, we do need a few adult elves (volunteers) to assist our children during the shop hours. This will be a very rewarding way to help our students and is sure to get you into the holiday spirit! If you are available to assist from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on any of the days, please call xxxx @ sss-ssss or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to volunteer or return the bottom of this letter to your child’s teacher.
Thank you in advance for your help with this program.
