We've done Market Day for 5 years now. In the beginning it was slow but thru the years has picked up so much that its a great profit for us. Each month they have "specials" that they run for fairly cheep. When the Cookie special is running we set a goal of how many tubs to sell and market it like crazy to our parents. Most every time we meet or exceed the goal (because the cookies are soooooooo good) and purchase something big from the school. This year we are purchasing a new sound system. Market Day also has started doing a brochure sale (non food items) and candy bar sells. The profit is about 50% and if your school does Market Day food wise then you get an extra profit. The program is great.
Market Day is a company which you can buy food from. You take orders then the people come about 2 wks later to pick-up their food. The food is frozen like: tyson chicken, steaks, hamburger etc. They have a website which is MarketDay.com
We are about even with last year. We are a small school and average a little over 100 orders per month with profits averaging $500-$600 per month. Last year we were forced to switch our pick-up times to evening instead of in the afternoon and our orders and profits went up. So, this year we've kept the evening pick-ups.
