As recently as yesterday (12/15/05) my Schoolpop rep told me that checks may be coming during the 'winter break' whatever that means.
I had called Schoolpop because the online reporting for my personal rebates and the school rebates are showing 3 different numbers for each depending on where you were looking in their reporting. I continue to be frustrated with the lack of accurate reporting that has been ongoing since we started with the program. As I have done before, I was asked to send an email describing the discrepancies. I still have no reply from my November 7 request for accuracy issues.
Which area or number did you call at Chase about transferring to the BoxTops VISA rebate program? If it's a simple call without a card reissue, I'm ready to move to their program since it would dovetail nicely with our ongoing BoxTops efforts.
The SchoolPop rep has contacted us and assured us that the money owed (credit card rebates, on-line affiliate rebates) will be paid in January. I have talked once to Chase Bank, the credit card issuer--they assure me that SchoolPop is contractually required to pay the credit card rebate to the schools! We'll see.
Chase also told me that SchoolPop VISA card holders can call Chase member services and request a switch to another rebate program, and they suggested Box Tops 4 Education. I checked into that also, and since our school runs a Box Tops program we are already registered with Box Tops 4 Ed. Box Tops also has an on-line shopping mall (with rebates!).
Box Tops is run by a large company (General Mills)--they are NOT in business to cheat schools and NPOs out of fundraising dollars!
Schoolpop is now saying that they're back at it. They're out of the papaer scrip business but trying (under new ownership -- again) to make a go of the online mall model.
No clue on the owed moneys. Believe that schoolpop is claiming that a vendor/partner of theirs owes that money, not Schoolpop itself.
Just wanted to bump up this thread and see if anyone has any more input about Schoolpop. Any news about how likely they are to pay? I stopped promoting them at our school. I'm steering people toward eScrp's online mall. Any comments?
I'm debating whether or not to promote them within our school during the holidays.
Too dicey--I wouldn't. There are other very good alternatives to Schoolpop out there. The one that is probably most similar in terms of available merchants and the percentage paid is the BoxTops for Education Marketplace. I'd go with that.

Has anyone been paid by Schoolpop since the new owners took over? They've told me to expect a check after the 1st of the year, but I'm skeptical. I'm debating whether or not to promote them within our school during the holidays.
