How many families send their children to this private school? The situation does sound like it will take a miracle but there is an unfranchise business available
for non profit organizations that can make a big difference in the financial aid needed.
I am not only a parent/PTO Pres.... I am also a board member, so I guess that makes me a part of the administration. We, the board, have not given the full details to the rest of the administration yet.... it will happen in the next 3 weeks. However, we are ALL doing all we can to pay our teachers. There are many factors that lead to our being in our current situation, but we just don't see any way out of it.... short of hitting the Lotto!!! We just want to do right by our AMAZING staff!!
May I ask to what extent the administration is working to make this right with their teachers? As wonderful as it is for the parents to pitch in, the teachers signed legally binding contracts with the school, not the parents ... I love that you are trying to make it right, but in the end, it is the adminitration's responsibility to make this happen.
I would think whatever funds can be gathered might want to go to the teachers as "help" or "thank you" funds, but I don't think it should go toward salaries due.
Thanks, Lisa! We are really trying to do all we can to have everyone get what they are due! We worried about the kids, found a school that will work with us for next year. Now we have to worry about the teachers and staff!!!
So sorry to hear about your school! That's really nice that you are thinking of the teachers/salaries but this sounds like a situation that goes beyond fundraising and that it will need to bankruptcy court.
