hi,
hope it's not too late to jump in on this. i'm a new pto pres. in a new school (2nd school year). i would like to request that those of you more familiar with pto's and pta's share some instances when insurance would be beneficial for a pto. thanks, in advance.
Sorry it took so long to reply, I've been swamped with back to school items. We are going with the General Liability, Bond Insurance @ $25,000., and Officers Liability, and our total is about $540.00
We chose not to add Property at this time because we don't own any thing yet, Because we are a new school.
We received the same quotes. It is a little more for PTO because they don't offer the discount. But, don't think that just because you are PTA that you are exempt from being sued. We had a long talk with the school district. Anyone can be sued. PTO or PTA. It is good to have insurance either way, just with the PTA, it is a requirement.
