PTA Ads in Mainstream Magazines

Son of a gun! I just went back and looked
thru my Rosie Mag and found the ad. If it hadn't been for reading the posts here I never would have known about it. A $3 million dollar ad campaign and people don't even see the ad, and if they do they don't know what it's about--No that's progress..

After reading this, I saw the ad in Rosie and then I even heard it on the radio this week. I called the number and got in the middle of voice mail hell. What are people supposed to do who call the number?

I am not sure how much the tv and magazine advertising will cost National PTA. However I would like to point out that there are almost 7 million PTA members. We are the largest childrens advocacy organization in America. So,althought the ad campaign may be big, we are big.

DolphinBooster, that's so funny. I had already read Rosie entirely and I even read that article where that ad is and I'm a PTA member and I still didn't notice that ad. I heard that the PTA is spending $3 million dollars on advertising. I can't believe that's what our dues are going for. Oh well, I hope we get a ton of new members out of it.

Dang, I wish you folks would've written the ad copy, you are much more inspiring!

I'm not "fer or against" PTA - simply making a comment on an ad campaign I felt was pretty lame. I agree wholeheartedly that it doesn't matter what vehicle we use - PTA or PTO, just remember why we are there and what we are trying to do - enhance the educational environment for all children.

I appreciate hearing from others who feel this way, too! Take care, Liz

Just remember, it's the kids that we are doing all this for. Years from now when the kids are creating their own future and they look back on the foundation that was established - they won't say was it a PTA or a PTO that helped out at the school, and that funded many opportunities for their school.

They will only remember that it was the parents who were there, and the many wonderful things from their childhood, not whether it was PTO, PTA or whatever.

We all share a common goal - to help raise kids to be the best they can be (caring, responsible, considerate, kind, thoughtful, generous and giving individuals) and that's why we do what we do, with all the other people that share the same common goal!
