STICKY SITUATION--How would you handle this one--are we wrong?

You know something, when the federal government only cares about 2% ($.02 to be exact) about education, I guess it can be hard for others to muster up a bit more!

PS--sent out the "reminder flier."

Got better stuff from the "cheese head's" class. Still not great, but in the end we decided to "help" that class and another's basket so that they would all at least fall in to the same prize category (large), though some will obviously be better than others.

I realize that while myself and others in my group have "volunteering issues" :D (as one of my best members put it), and when out and about we'll pick up things on sale to help an event and not ask to be reimbursed, it STILL KILLS ME that everyone can't be even 3% as generous and helpful. Can you imagine how great our schools would be if this were true?!

Please--I'll never look at a roll of Scott's the same again!

This whole event has opened a REAL Pandora's Box for our principal, who happens to be up for tenure sometime in the not so distant future. I think she was banking on me and the members being a-holes and outwardly "taking her on" so that she could understandably have us removed for being too much trouble, and now she's seeing we might not be that easy to get rid of. I'm just bummed she's got such control issues--this COULD have been a beautiful relationship!

rocket, you rock! I'm looking for an idea for an upcoming auction for our 4-H group and love the idea of the kids making a place setting for 4! Awesome!!!

kma...I saw a sale on tp and thought of the basket...the kids couldn't figure out why Mommy was giggling. again... :D

That's a really great idea!

While on one hand I'm glad to see we're not the only bunch with teacher issues, on the other it completely bums me out to know that this isn't an isolated problem. You'd really hope the people teaching your kids would be willing to go that extra step to make school a little bit more special.
