One thing our school does is have a monthly school night at the local pizz place. Talk to the manager about designating a certain night for your school. They have a roster of the teachers and as you pay, you tell them which teacher to credit for your meal. The teacher having the most, gets a free pizza party for the class PLUS the school gets a percentage of the total money spent that night. We use CiCi's pizza--they provide reminder stickers to put on the kids the day of and flyers to send home. No work for us except to distribute the stickers & flyers.
A note about the Campbell's--they ARE a pain BUT. We used them this past year to order a singing machine( karaoke) which we raffled off at our Spring Carnival---BIG hit and we got more money in chances than it cost us in effort. Now, that is what we plan to do in the future--order items that can be raffled. I feel that the amount of labels required to get anything useful for a classroom is too high when you can purchase the item cheaper at WalMart or elsewhere. Now, we're making the program work for us, so although I hate it, we'll keep doing it--it's still free "money".
We had a good run with the soup labels,13,000 this year alone. I also agree with you that the value per each one is very low when you consider the cash you can earn with Box Tops (we earned over 1,000)and Tyson (.24 cents per). However, we did collect enough soup labels to get two scooter boards and a parachute for our gym teacher. Would have been more lucrative if our new president would have sent the soup labels 3 day ground instead of priority mail, it cost us $38 to send it in.

We are doing the box tops and we had planned on doing the soup labels, but I will look into that more.I was all kinds of stressed out but maybe I am doing fine, it would be hard to be worse than our past history! I called all the parents whose phone numbers I got the last day of school and the Principal yesterday to set a meeting to vote on all our fundraising ideas on Aug. 4 (when the principal & secretary go back to work) I had alot of parents who said they would come so we shall see!

Which are worth about $1 total. Times that by 3-5 homes and you would have $3-$5. Yes, every dollar counts, but is the effort of LFE worth it?
We had a very excited volunteer who thought she could get a new camcorder for the school with LFE. Labels had accumulated for several years, and there were several trash sacks full of labels. The student council cut them all down for her, and when she added them all up she was just a little bit short -- she had about 10% of what she needed.
To add insult to injury, when the student council sponsor heard we weren't getting the camcorder, she asked if we could give that money to student council. She didn't understand that LFE does not pay cash, and she thought there was a lot more money available than there was.
My sister bought several cases of soup on sale. The local soup kitchen was willing to accept them with the labels removed. She offered to mail the labels to me; I told her to offer them to her neighbors kid.
Don't forget to get local retirement homes to collect Box Tops and Soup Labels. It may not be much but the retirees eat a lot of soup and cereal. They are very kind and love to help out. Even their kitchens (if they have one) use soup for their recipes. We only worked with one and it brought in about $30 in Box Tops and 100 soup labels. Times that by 3-5 homes and it could even be more.
Yes, I too am go overboard! However, I just polled parents looking for talents/interest in a bunch of stuff! Ask and you shall receive. For example look for someone to takeover newsletter next year and concentrate on the organization part since you know you'll follow up!
