I tried the Microsoft design gallery and searched for hours using www.google.com image search. I guess I'm too picky.

Yes, I'd be willing to share my brochure, once it's finished. (I'll also bring copies to the Chicago PTO show). We're giving it a test run during our Kindergarten Welcome Day in March.

The search engines (like Alta vista) bring up too many hits. Anyone out there with specific links that might apply to a school/community/teacher/student theme? Our mascot is the Lion.

Thanks!

Why not design your own, using your mascot? We have a bumble bee for our mascot. This year is the first that our school has used a theme for PTO. I use adobe and am able to reposition the arms of our bee. For our welcome we used "Come Soar With Us!!! At open house I had him holding balloons. I used an over head projector to make a big bee. Then I attached cut out balloons. Each teacher had their name added to a balloon and as families joined we added their names. Weclome brochure would have the same bee with balloons and so does our school T-Shirts.
We use the same bee and add what ever is needed for the event we are doing or the message we want to send. Like the cookbook we are now making, we have him holding a spatula with "Come Cook With The BPS Family". For the annual we use him holding a pencil and writing in a book.
PTO meetings he sometimes is holding a PTO sign. Buzz-Bee says, "Come bee a part of PTO". Buzz-bee says, "Make a difference in your child's education. Bee a part of your school".
Different things like that. Hope this gives you some ideas.

I think the best clip art site is Microsoft's Design Gallery. Over the years the web address has changed, so I always just go to Microsoft ( www.microsoft.com ) and type "clipart" in the search box. But here's the direct address if you want it: dgl.microsoft.com/

You can type in search words and specify if you want black & white, video, photos, sounds, whatever. The number of results is amazing:

"family" = 84+ DOZEN responses
"school" = 66 DOZEN matches

These work with Microsoft products like Word, Publisher, PowerPoint (although you could cut and past from Word to something else).

Getting used to the download process can be a little tricky, but just play around with it.

I would also love any info on clipart for PTO/school.

Also, what will you be using your welcome brochure for? We have been looking for an idea that we could give out at open house in the fall...just wondering what info will be included in yours. Thanks
