I am planning out teacher appreciation week. I just got 2 massage thrapiest to give free 10 minute massages to the teachers and staff. All the pto people are so excited and I can't wait to hear what the teachers and staff have to say. The massage thrapeist is doing the work completely for free.
We get our entire staff, not just teachers, gift certificates for lunch at a local restaurant. They love it. We honor our entire staff and now call it Staff Appreciation Day instead of Teachers Appreciation Day! From the Custodial staff (who really help us out a lot!) to the aides in school, everyone is appreciated!
Last year we did homemade bath salts with a note about "relax and unwind you deserve it" The salts are simple to make, search "make your own bath salts" on the internet and you will find TONS of recipes. We went to a local dollar store and bought spice racks with about 6 small spice size jars for $2 and put about 3 tbsps of salts in each one. Enough for a couple of baths. The teachers really enjoyed the creativeness.
Many have also request that I email them the document of "SURVIVIAL KITS" that can be used for teachers, as well as gifts for the incoming board members at the end of the year "Incoming / Outgoing Board Members lunch, brunch, or dinner,
If you want these, email me direct and I'll email them to you for you to have fun, and maybe get a new idea or two.

If you are interested in the 100+ Gift Ideas document that I've shared with many wonderful parents, PTO and PTA leaders, and others across the country, email me and I'll send it onto you too.
Maybe you'll get a new idea or two from that sheet. Otherwise this is a great area for lots of you to keep posting gift idea details to share.

We did something each day during the week last year. I will list the ones I can remember:
Our PTC provided vases for each of the teachers and we requested that each of the children bring in a flower for their teacher on one day. This went over so well that some teachers had to be creative after their first vase was filled. The school smelled wonderful this day!
We had a car wash day. We solicited help from some of the moms and washed each teacher's car this day. (However it rained this day last year, but it's the thought that counts, right?)
Massage and manicure day. This worked because all of our teachers are female. It was quite costly, but the teachers loved it!
Dinner day. We had parents sign up from each classroom to make a dinner for the teachers to take home on this day. The parents went all out for this and the teachers did not have to cook this night.
I don't remember what we did on the 5th day, but if I do, I will post again.
