Thanks for the idea. I wear my badge daily. There are only 2 of us who ever wear ours. It seems like all my hard work was done for nothing. Kind of like the PTO shirts I designed for us to wear and be noticed in. Oh well, I enjoy them and that's all that matters, right?

Some other ideas for next time you do this....
Avery and Polaroid I-zone make a name badge kit. You print from Word/Publisher, add a small I-zone picture if you want to, and then peel the laminated badge off the paper. ( I can't quite explain this, but it's really quite nifty) The results are very professional. I found the kit at Staples for about 40$ for a kit with 50 badges.

Another way to do this is to merge the names into Word/Publisher in the same format you use for business cards. Print onto blank perforated cards. As one of the other posters mentioned, buy laminated luggage tags (the dollar store has them 3/1$ and string through.

The school provides volunteer badges, but we wear these for after school events sponsered by our PTO

Our board was wanting badges so that we could be easily identified at functions. We had shirts made at our own cost, but those were just generic PTO shirts. We do have volunteer badges in the office, but they are forgotten. Thank you for all the wonderful advice I have received.

You may also want to check with the company that takes your school pictures. We use Bell Photography and they include an unlimited number of badges for us at no charge.

We use the badges so that our most recurrent volunteers don't need to sign in and out of the office each time they come to help out.

I would like to know what are the badges used for. When your volunteering in school? Our school has volunteer badges already made up and visitors badges. What would be the purpose for the badge.
