Scooby....
For the first time I am having a hard time putting words in my fingers to type.....You need a hug more tha my smart antidotes!
I was asked by my husband to take a break and I am sick as I look at the ballot for Monday's election. But as Menzy Mom has said, there are tons of little areas that will benifit from our help and time. Right now I am dieing to get into our school's new library and get it up and running (I'm aready commited to two days a week this summer to help!).
I once joked with Father Tom about my recent pregnacy and how it was not in out plans and he reminded me of how the Lord has his plans. I smiled and asked how I can get a copy! Have faith Scooby, take some time to 'smell the roses' and do the things you want to do. Also you are more than welcome here.....will you stay for a scooby snack?? Okay....2?? Sorry, to hear of your losses. One was God's and the other was down right wrong. I myself decided not to run for PTO again. I don't think I would of hung in as long you did. It's a shame that people was to be like that over an office that is to serve the children and staff and they just don't have any class. I hope that they can be a board and serve well. And that will be seen in the coming year. I myself had a bitter ending aas my termship of President for standing up for something that I knew was great for the school and spoke up and now on the list of not being welcomed. That's okay I will continue to serve the classes of my children and whatever area I see will benefit them and other.
You know, that is easier said than done!! I just feel like I am not going to play any part in our PTO, why, pray tell, should I get on here to see all of your wonderful ideas that will never be used at our school?? You all have been wonderful to me you really have! But, I think that it would be best if anything involving PTO is pretty much out of my life! At least for right now. I am going to be involved in the classrooms and with the teachers, but I am NOT volunteering my time or energy on people who will not appreciate it. I think I am just going to concentrate on getting pregnant, going to Disneyworld in June, and maybe I will be back next year if I win the election!! Goodbye??? Did you get permission to leave???? Look at the number of posters on this board, me included, who are just dying for mentors to guide us through the chaotic world of PTO. We need dedicated people like you and many others who post here to answer questions, give suggestions, lend ears, whatever it takes to make it through our next school year. Your PTO may not know what it is losing, then again they may soon find out, but we certainly know your value! Stay!
Debbie, I am so sorry for your loss.
I can't imagine the ugliness of your elections, all I can say is that what they did was wrong. People will notice this when things don't happen, don't get done, etc. Stay involved in your children's classes, the library, etc. The kids will notice and they will appreciate it. (sorry for sounding like a hallmark greeting card) I just wanted you to know that. (and I hope you don't leave these boards) maggie
