For our volunteer wall for the upcoming school year I hung up a beehive. I will cut out letters to say, "Our volunteers are busy bees." Every time a person volunteers, they will get their name written on a bumblebee and it will be placed on the wall by the hive. I purchased it from Holcomb's educational store. I just took down our volunteer tree. Every time someone volunteered, I wrote their name on a leaf and hung it on the tree.
For our Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon, we will be having an Oscar theme. We just did a luau theme last month.
-Help us complete the puzzle...be involved today! (puzzle pieces)
-Reach for the Stars
-Together we can make things happen
-our school...where home, school and community become one
-we are family
"When you stop learning you stop growing."
For the past 2 years we used "Our Kids Come First" with Smiley Faces as our theme! This year I am president and am thinking that I want to use "Attitude is Everything". We talk about the "Disney Mentality" a lot in our meetings. How infighting tore apart previous PTOs and how we want to be welcoming and be a sister to every member.
Last year our school used the theme MISSION POSSIBLE:
our kids really loved it. They said that they felt like they could do anything they set their minds to.It went over very well.
Our PTO does not use theme's, but our school did this year. It was the first year they implemented a Character Education program. They used the theme "going the extra mile" and each month they had a different theme (Citizenship, Caring, Respect...) When a child displayed the character of the month, they received a sneaker on the Character wall.
You can use this theme for so many events and situations throughout the year.
