Anyone else feel like they’re drowning in plastic eggs after Easter? Each year I pack them away and reuse them, but every year we gain at least 25-30 from various family members bringing treats for the kids. As I hauled them out of storage this year I decided to get crafting with them.
This banner is super easy to make, great for fine motor skills, and adds a nice splash of color wherever you decide to hang it. Use them to decorate for an Easter class party or have the kids make them during the party and join them all together for a big long banner around the whole room.
Materials:
- Plastic eggs
- Yarn or fishing twine
- Needle
- Tape
How to Make:
Thread the needle with yarn or fishing twine. (The needle isn’t absolutely mandatory if you use fishing twine, but it feels more like sewing which the kids enjoy)
Thread through the bottom and then top hole of a plastic egg and tape or tie off the end.
Continue threading through the bottom and top of each egg snapping them shut as you go.
After your last egg tape or tie off the end to secure it.
A variation would be to have kids sort the eggs by color and create a pattern.
