Turkey Scavenger Hunt

In this fun twist on the scavenger hunt, kids search for turkey parts and race to create a turkey craft before the other team.

What you’ll need

Construction paper – brown, green, orange, red, & yellow

Glue Stick

Sealable plastic bags (like ziplock bags)

What you’ll have to do before the scavenger hunt begins

From construction paper, you’re going to cut out some turkey parts and place each part in a sealable plastic bag to hide for the scavenger hunt.  You’re going to cut out the following turkey parts to make 4 turkeys.  Take a look at the photo to see what the pieces should look like.   For each of the 4 turkeys, you’ll need 1 body (brown); 4 feathers (1 red, 1 orange, 1 green and 1 yellow); 1 mouth (yellow) and 1 gobbler (red).

Without the kids watching, hide each of the plastic bags with the turkey parts (you’ll have 7 plastic bags containing one turkey part to create each turkey) . . . so, you’ll have a total of 28 plastic bags.

Here’s how to play

Divide the group into 4 teams and give each team a list of what they must find to create their turkey.  The kids must find everything on their list to create their turkey.  Give them the “go” signal to start search for their turkey parts.

When they find all of their turkey parts, they race back to a work table and create their turkey by gluing the parts together.  The 1st team to complete their turkey is the winner!
