Appointing PTO officers?

Is it ok for School administrator to appoint pto officer or officers?

No, not if there's an active independent PTO. The principal can recommend someone for a job, but officers must be elected by the members.

If that's the case then the school administration does have more say. You want to have a good working relationship with the administrator, anyway, so try reaching out and having a discussion about this appointment. Look for the positive in working with this person.
